Vision of the Program (Objective):
Hasan Kalyoncu University Master’s Program in Political Science and International Relations aims to become one of the most reputable programs in Turkey and the Middle East through its education, generated scientific research, and contributions to society.
Mission of the Program (Goal):
i. Our program provides high-quality education in the field of political science and international relations, fostering an innovative, entrepreneurial, participatory, and liberal academic environment. ii. The program heavily incorporates elective courses, offering options for students with diverse interests and skills to enhance their academic development. iii. Beyond traditional teaching methods, the classes ensure active participation of students through presentations, discussions, and projects. iv. The primary priority of our program is to ensure that the education provided and the research conducted do not remain confined to academic circles but serve the interests of society.
The academic program, education, and research are conducted in collaboration with non-governmental organizations, international institutions, and local governments.
Program Competencies
i. Proficiency in foundational texts within the field of Political Science and International Relations. Understanding the core concepts, theories, models, approaches, and their interrelationships.
ii. Evaluating and interpreting quantitative and qualitative data using acquired theoretical, factual, and research method knowledge to identify problems, perform data analysis, and generate solutions.
iii. Effectively comprehending and interpreting news and commentary related to Political Science and International Relations; engaging in discussions and making future-oriented predictions.
iv. Ability to relate Political Science and International Relations knowledge to information from other fields such as Law, Economics, History, Sociology, integrating and interpreting them, generating new information, and demonstrating interdisciplinary interactions.
v. Knowing where to find specific information in their field, conducting independent research and work, preparing comprehensive reports, or writing articles on researched topics.
vi. Fulfilling responsibilities as a leader or team member in project or team work, taking initiatives when necessary.
vii. Expressing, presenting, and sharing knowledge, findings, ideas, and comments in academic and professional environments, using necessary data and articulating in clear and concise Turkish.
viii. Demonstrating an understanding of the importance of respecting differences among cultures and individuals, communicating with empathy in social or professional environments created by individuals from different cultures.
ix. Understanding the individual, societal, and ecological dimensions of the concept of social responsibility, demonstrating an understanding of active citizenship within this framework.
